In Memoriam (October 30, 2011-present)
Robert King, 72, a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament, will be buried from Transfiguration on Saturday, April 20th. Mass will be held at 11am with visitation at 10 am. The lunch will be immediately after Mass, before the burial at Union Cemetery. Bob passed away suddenly on April 10. Our condolences go with his sister, Rosemary, and her husband Bill, his step-children, Robin and Mike, and their families, and his many nieces and nephews. May he rest with God.
Parishioner Kenneth DeStacio, 72, died from complications of cancer and diabetes on April 16. His funeral will be at Transfiguration on Monday, April 22 at 12 noon, preceded by the visitation from 10 am-12. The burial will be at Union Cemetery, followed by the luncheon. Our prayers are with his children, Kim, Dawn, and Jeff, his 7 siblings, and their families. May his soul rest in peace.
Parishioner Vance Kuritz, 72, died on March 16. His funeral was March 20, at 11 am. The burial was at Fort Snelling. Our prayers are with his wife, Karen, and his children, Steve, Kathy, Mary, and Amy and their families.
Parishioner Laura Aebly, 78, died on March 15 at the Shores of Lake Phalen. Her funeral was on Saturday, March 23, at 1 pm with the visitation at 12 pm. The burial will be on Tuesday, March 26, at Fort Snelling. Our prayers are with her daughters, Julie and Laurie, and their families.
Raymond Westphall, 55, died on March 16 after a battle with lung disease. His funeral will be Monday, March 25, at 10 am. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, 3-5 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am. The burial will be at a later date. Our prayers are with his children, Chris and Brittany and their families and his loving companion, Donna.
Parishioner Delores Winkler, 95, passed away on February 20, 2013, at her home at Lakeview Commons. The funeral will be held here at Transfiguration on Wednesday, February 27, at 10 am, with the visitation from 9-10 am. There will also be a visitation at Mueller’s on Johnson Parkway from 5 – 8 pm on February 26. She will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery. Our prayers are with her daughter, Lynn and son-in-law Max as they mourn her loss and rejoice in her new live in the arms of God. May Delores rest in peace.
Parishioner Hazel Leonard passed away on Wednesday, February 13. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 18th at 11am. Private interment will be held at a later date. Hazel was 95 years old. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
Longtime parishioner Hank Preiner, beloved husband to Dixie, father, grandfather, friend, and coach to many, passed away on January 29, 2013. His funeral will be on Friday, February 1 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 31, from 4 – 8 p.m. at church and one hour before the Mass on Friday. Burial will be at Union Cemetery immediately following Mass. Hank was dedicated to his family, and this church and school. May he rest in peace.
Parishioner Anna Mae Murnane passed away on January 13, 2013. Her funeral will be held at Transfiguration on Wednesday, January 16 at 11 am. Visitation will be held 9 – 11 am prior. There will be a luncheon directly after Mass, followed by the burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Please keep her family in your prayers.
The funeral for parishioner Joan Tucci, 82, who passed away on January 8, will be held on Friday, January 11, at 11 am. Visitation will be one hour before, at 10 am. Please keep her family of 8 children and their families in prayer. The luncheon will follow Mass. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
Parishioner Ann Peterson, 86, passed away on December 13, 2012. Her funeral will be held at Transfiguration on Saturday, December 15, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 – 2 p.m. on Saturday and on Friday, December 14 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Mueller Bies.
Parishioner Joseph Falzone passed away on November 8, 2012. The funeral will be here at Transfiguration on Saturday, November 17 at 11 am. The visitation will be here for the two hours before the funeral, from 9-11 am.
Parishioner Amanda Zabinski passed away on October 28, 2012 at the age of 91 years. Her funeral was Saturday, November 3, 2012, here at Transfiguration. Her burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.

William “Bill” Freiermuth father of Parishioner Diane Golaski, passed away on February 20, 2012. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Private burial was at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul. William was 93 years old.
Parishioner Albert Hayne passed away on February 14, 2012. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burial was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Maplewood. Albert was 82 years old.
