A Community Caring for Life

Mission

A Community Caring for Life (ACCL) is an Archdiocesan initiative encouraging parishes to reach out to others who are experiencing a crisis pregnancy, family issue or challenging need. At Transfiguration, we embrace our Church’s teaching on the sanctity and dignity of all human life. Our faith impels us to pray and work to create and support a community caring for life here at Transfiguration, as well as the broader community and country in which we live. We promote both communal and individual prayer for a culture of life.

We encourage and provide education on life issues. We provide practical and financial support for those facing crisis life situations. In the broader community, we pray, promote and work for legal and cultural respect for human life from creation to natural death All of these areas allow us to witness to the compassion and love of Christ to those in need.

Blessed are you, God of all creation. Your mercy and love are for all people, and the life of every child is your gift. May we demonstrate the reality of your love by offering care and support to women and men who need our community to stand with them. Help us to proclaim the Gospel through our actions by giving of ourselves in practical, specific ways. Help us offer our hospitality and friendship to those For whom pregnancy has become a time of crisis. Renew us by your Holy Spirit as a people of compassion and justice, a community of caring for life. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Our risen Lord. Amen.

Events

Monthly Blessing for Expectant Mothers and Those Praying for a Child
1st Sunday of each month at the conclusion of the 10:30 a.m. Mass, Fr. Baer will offer the monthly Blessing for expectantmothers and for couples praying for a child, including those praying for the adoption of a child. The Blessing will be offered by the statue of the Blessed Mother in the rear corner of the Church. Family and friends of these couples are also welcome.

January

• Prayer Service for Life at the Cathedral of St. Paul followed by a march to the MN State Capitol on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade
• Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser for Life Care Center, East

May

• MCCL “Thanks Mom for Life” Mother’s Day corsage and flower sale in the gathering space at Transfiguration before and after all Masses for one weekend. Roses to benefit Birthright are also sold.

October

• Respect Life Sunday, 1st Sunday of October.
• Diaper Drive for area life care centers.

The Community Caring for Life (ACCL) warmly extends an invitation to all parishioners to stop by the pamphlet shelves in the Gathering Space. There you will find new pro-life literature and information that is free to take home for further study. It is with hope that these materials will aid you in your spiritual growth and understanding of the Church’s pro-life teachings and other crucial moral issues of the day.
