SCRIP:
WHAT IS SCRIP
SCRIP is
the easiest, best way for Transfiguration to raise money on a consistent
basis. It’s simple. Like a gift certificate, SCRIP is used by
Transfiguration parents to purchase goods and services at hundreds of
national and local establishments, including leading retail stores, grocery
stores, and restaurants. Transfiguration receives a percentage of sales.
Best of all, participation is FREE of charge!
HOW DOES SCRIP WORK?
-
Transfiguration purchases certificates (i.e., Rainbow,
Cub, Lands End, Chilis, etc.) at a discount, good for shopping,
merchandise, food and services from numerous stores and restaurants.
-
Each family then purchases the SCRIP certificate at
face value from our SCRIP team or by purchasing it online through
www.shopwithscrip.com
-
The discount or profit, which ranges from 1.5% to25%
is then given directly to the school.
WHY DOES TRANSFIGURATION HAVE A SCRIP PROGRAM?
SCRIP
programs have proven to be a successful fundraiser at Catholic Schools --
some earning as much as $60,000 or more. Transfiguration families help to
offset on-going costs at the school with SCRIP. It is a win-win program at
no cost to you, as the SCRIP certificates are “substitutes” for cash at the
merchants.
WHY IS SCRIP SO SUCCESSFUL?
SCRIP
works for three reasons:
-
The
participating retailers are stores where you already shop all the time.
-
Transfiguration parents can help without spending an extra dime.
-
Many parents are looking for a new way to contribute - they’re tired of
buying unwanted or unnecessary items like cookies, candy, and other
things.
AT WHICH RETAIL STORES OR MERCHANTS CAN I USE SCRIP?
SCRIP has
partnership with hundreds of merchant establishments, including leading
retail stores, grocery store chains, and restaurants. See the order form for
a list of vendors.

PROGRAM GUIDELINES
For the
2010-2011 school year, the Transfiguration SCRIP program will expect each
family to either purchase a minimum of $200 a month in SCRIP or pay a
one-time amount of $125 profit/contribution.
ITS EASY TO PARTICIPATE! IT JUST TAKES SOME PLANNING!
-
Sign
up at
www.shopwithscrip.com and
register your family. The registration process takes about five minutes.
You can create an account for your family with just an email address.
-
As
part of the registration process, you must associate your account with
an enrolled non-profit organization (i.e., Transfiguration Catholic
School) before you can submit orders.
The code is
4E86559D58L8.
Once
this code is entered, it will show you that you are linked to the
Transfiguration Catholic School SCRIP program.
-
If you
don’t have Internet access, please pick up an order form at the school.
Hours are 8:00-4:00p.m. Monday thru Friday.
-
If
you have any questions, contact Cindy Hinrichs, Office administrator at
651-501-2220.
IS SCRIP TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
No.
Because the parent gets the full face value. The tax deduction goes to the
companies that provide the cards at a discount to Great Lakes SCRIP.
CAN I USE MY CREDIT CARD?
No.
Because the Great Lakes SCRIP program does not accept credit cards for
payment of SCRIP because of the cost of the transaction.
WHAT IS PRESTO PAY?
Presto-Pay is a convenient way for your family to pay online at the time you
place your order. GLCS will electronically accept your payment on behalf of
Transfiguration Catholic School. GLSC will automatically debit your checking
account for the face value amount of your order, plus a small convenience
fee of $0.39, and hold that payment until our school order has been released
by the administrator (Cindy Hinrichs in the school office).
CAN I RELOAD MY SCRIP CARD?
Yes.
However, not all cards reload. Click
www.shopwithscrip.com and look for
the reload icon. The icon is a green recycled logo. It will also tell you
which vendors allow their cards to be reloaded.
KOHL’S - A UNIQUE SCRIP VENDOR
Kohl’s does allow you to use the scrip cards to pay your Kohl’s Charge Card.
