Walking with Purpose

  • Transfiguration Catholic Church 6133 15th Street North Oakdale United States (map)

Join us for Transfiguration's women’s Bible study program, Walking With Purpose. We will be meeting on Wednesday mornings at 9:30-11:00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:30-8:00 p.m. Childcare will be available during our Wednesday morning sessions. During our Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 season, we will be offering two Bible studies: "Opening Your Heart" and "Touching the Divine". Both 22-week studies will be offered simultaneously during our evening and morning sessions.

If this is your first time participating in Walking With Purpose, we highly encourage you to register for "Opening Your Heart". If you have completed both of these studies previously, we highly encourage participating again in one of the studies. The Book of Hebrews (4:12) refers to the Word of God as "living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections of thoughts of the heart." Scripture continues to reveal new insights at different points in our lives, and repeating Bible studies can prove to be incredibly fruitful as we read God's words through a different lens.

Below you can find additional information about the two studies, provided by the national WWP website:

Opening Your Heart will take you on an exciting journey closer to the heart of God, help you form a personal relationship with Christ, and help you find answers to life’s biggest questions through the context of the Catholic faith. Opening Your Heart is an incredibly effective guide to deep, lasting transformation of the heart, and we encourage all participants new to Walking with Purpose to begin here, regardless of previous experience with Bible study.

Join us as we explore the core questions that we need to wrestle with if we want to experience all that God has for us.

  • How can I conquer my fears?

  • What is the role of the Holy Spirit in my life?

  • What does the Eucharist have to do with my friendship with Christ?

  • What are the limits of Christ’s forgiveness?

  • Why and how should I pray?

  • What is the role of suffering in my life?

  • What challenges will I face in my efforts to follow Jesus more closely?

Touching the Divine focuses on the many qualities of Jesus revealed through the Gospel of John. This study draws us into a deeper, loving relationship with Jesus as we reflect on His life and personality. Saint John referred to himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” As we study, John will teach us how much Jesus loves us, and how His love is the true satisfaction of our souls. Knowing Christ more intimately, as John did, will touch your heart and fill you with hope!

Learn about Christ’s divine qualities:

  • Our source of fulfillment for all that we need

  • The ultimate gift giver

  • Our model of fidelity

  • Our redeemer and restorer
